Classic Croissants

INGREDIENTS

  • all purpose flour - 4 cups
  • sugar - 1/4 cup - granulated sugar
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • yeast - 1 tbsp + 1/2 tsp instant yeast
  • butter - 3 tbsp
  • water - 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp COLD water (I had to use 5 tbsp more water)
  • milk - 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp COLD milk (I used 2% milk)
  • butter - 1 1/4 cup (2.5 sticks)
  • eggs - Beat 1 egg with 1 tsp water (milk can also be used instead of eggs)
  • milk - (optional)
