Thanksgiving Table

BY MARTIN AMADO ON NOVEMBER 2ND, 2017

thanksgiving-tableThanksgiving is traditionally celebrated around the dining table and a beautiful table setting can make this special day even more memorable for family and friends.

Be inspired by the rustic colors and textures you see in nature during this season to decorate your table in many layers. In the table setting I created, I used jute, mesh fabric rolls to embellish cloth napkins and the napkin rings were small grapevine wreaths I purchased at a craft store. The jute or burlap fabric can be used as table runner, too. For the centerpieces, raffia ribbon, grapevine spheres, and fall leaves are scattered in between the candleholders for added texture and dimension along the length of the table.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match your dinnerware, either. I began with a decorative charger as the base and placed a leaf-shaped accent plate on the dinner plate. This smaller plate adds a whimsical touch and can be used for salads or desserts by the guests. The contrast of shapes and colors create a unique look for each place setting.

An arrangement of flowers and foliage, which tie the entire color palette together, complete the elegant setting. The two floral centerpieces balance the length of the table and are kept low as you don’t wish to block the sightline to a guest sitting opposite the table.

It’s all in the details and these are simple ideas that will help you entertain in style. Many blessings to you and yours this Thanksgiving holiday.
