Pack Like A Pro!

Summer is coming and that means a lot of people will be getting ready to take their vacations. I love to travel for both work and pleasure. Over the years, I’ve collected some tips and shortcuts to make my trips go a little smoother. In my work, I spend a lot of time driving to many stores as I shop for all the decorative details for a room makeover, and consequently, I have to think about how to best utilize every square inch of my car when I load everything inside. Believe me when I say this has helped me become a better packer, too! Here are a few of my favorite go-to packing tips!

Just Roll With it

It’s better to roll than to fold. Tightly rolled clothes take up less space than folded ones, and they're less likely to get deep wrinkles from fold creases.

Make a Packing List

Start your packing list ahead of your departure date; this gives you time to think about what you’ll need and purchase any missing items. It can also help keep you from over-packing, because you can better plan out your days away.

Distribute the Weight

If you have a suitcase with wheels, be sure to pack your heavier items toward the bottom. That way when you roll it, the weight is more evenly distributed and your bag should be easier to roll.

Stay Fresh

It's important to keep your clothes smelling fresh, especially if you're on a long trip. Lay fabric conditioner sheets or scented drawer liners in between clothes to keep them smelling good throughout the trip.

And, when I travel, I am always looking for inspiration for my own designs. I like to stay at a stylish hotel that doesn’t break my budget. Sleep Inn® has stylish guest rooms that are modern and affordable; plus, I know I will get a good night’s sleep. Check out Sleep Inn for your next trip.

Happy Traveling!
