DIY MOSAIC WALL ART

BY MARTIN AMADO ON MAY 8TH, 2017

Spring is the season of renewal, so why not give your home a renewed look with some simple DIY wall art? This framed mosaic project is cost effective, super easy, and gives your space an upscale modern look.

You need just three items to make this piece come to life: a shadow box, mosaic tiles, and a hot glue gun. When choosing a shadow box, I tend to go for ones with a thick border and a minimalist square frame. This helps to keep a consistent and contemporary feel with the sharp geometry of the mosaic tiles.

Now for the fun part: choosing the mosaic tiles! Your local tile or home and garden store should have plenty of options. You can go with a simple square pattern, or you can add an exciting twist with hexagons, a brick pattern or whatever else catches your eye. Be sure that the colors of the tiles work with your frame and the colors of your room.

All that’s left now is the assembly. Use the hot glue gun to glue the tiles to the shadow box’s backing. Once it dries, simply attach the backing to the frame and mount the shadow box. Beautiful!

Happy DIY’ing!
