Coffee Table With Storage

BY MARTIN AMADO ON JULY 1ST, 2016

One of the biggest design trends in furniture is incorporating storage solutions for the customer. This transforms the furniture into a multi-functional piece that adds even more value in the home. We see this often in coffee tables. There's a great selection from trunks to ottomans that offer compartments for books, magazines, toys, dvds or whatever your heart desires. They can range from $300 to $500 depending on the style.

As you know, I'm always on the quest to get the biggest bang for your buck, so here's a great idea to get the same look and function for less. Featured in the photo, I used two end tables for less than $10 each and placed them side by side. Then I added a storage cube underneath that I bought for less $20.00 each from a discount department store. The cubes come in many colors: brown, pink, black and lime green, so it's a fun way to add a splash of color in any room. I love how the brown and lime green combination looks. Entire cost for this coffee table was less than $60.00!

It's a perfect solution for homeowners that are looking to add storage in a family room, living room, den or playroom. The added bonus, especially if you have children, is that the storage cube can also double as a seat and they can use the table top for arts and crafts, while storing crayons, coloring books and supplies inside the cube. No need to have a separate toddler table in the family room that might otherwise look as if it belongs in a playroom. These ideas keep the entire family organized.
